Utility Worker II (Water Leak Search)

Please note that this position requires working overtime, weekends, holidays, and 24-hour callouts as business needs demand.Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring a Utility Worker II to support our Water Leak Search group. In this job, you will support activities related to fire hydrants' maintenance and proper performance.

Some of how you will make an impact include:

  • Repairing and maintaining critical and non-critical hydrants per our service level agreement with the Colorado Springs Fire Department
  • Assisting our Water Distribution group with shutdowns during and after normal operating hours
  • Assisting our Leak Survey Specialists with valve operations and leak search activities
  • Performing standby operations after normal operating hours
  • Performing fire flows and fire hydrant flow tests

Who You Are

  • Relevant and progressively responsible construction or general labor experience is valued
  • Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
  • Ability to perform work safely and bring safety hazards to the attention of others
