Our private optometry practice is looking for an Optometric Technician/Optician to join our team.

We are looking for an energetic, friendly associate with a passion for customer service. You need to carry yourself professionally while connecting comfortably with each patient who walks in the door. Previous optometry experience is extremely beneficial, but not required. There is an expectation of a very fast learning curve with solid retention. You must also be very comfortable on the computer to learn new software.

As a small (but busy) one doctor practice, our office does not have individual roles for individual employees. Each employee is trained in all areas so depending on the day, you are expected to perform the roles of:

Front desk/Administration: Answer phone calls, texts, and emails. Schedule appointments, verify insurance benefits, and check patients in and out.

Optical: Guide patient's with frame and lens selection. Place glasses orders and bill insurance for eyewear. Sell and order contact lenses. Verify the accuracy of our patient's new glasses. Adjust and dispense glasses.

Technician: Operate pre-testing equipment to gather measurements from patients that the doctor will need.

Lab: use equipment to cut lenses to fit into frames.

With each if these roles, multitasking is a must. This means it's very important that you're comfortably able to process multiple ideas at one time and work efficiently.

The position starts between $17.00-$20.00 based on experience. We also offer monthly bonus opportunities.

The expected hours worked per week will range from 34-40. Since our office is open 6 days per week we require full availability, including 1-3 Saturdays a month.
