CNS is seeking aDistribution and Collection Specialistto assist with training new Distribution and Collection employees.

Responsibilities:

• Train the new watershed caretakers on how to perform their daily duties during system turn-in (Start-up) and summer operations during high flows
• Teach, demonstrate, and explain why they need to perform daily duties (reads, inspections, PM’s, and operational flow changes
• Explainwater rights for the Blue River system, how to watch for river calls, and how to turn-in and out various water rights and diversion structures
• Explain the importance of Dam Safety, how to maintain each of the dams so the remain in good condition, and what to monitor and watch to ensure each dam is safe to operate

Knowledge of the following:

• Blue River watershed design & components.
• Blue Rive watershed operations.
• Blue River water Rights.
• Dam safety maintenance, monitoring, & -Inspection procedures for high hazard dams.
• Dam Emergency Action plan (Montgomery and Upper Blue Reservoirs)
• Water flow calculations

Skill in the following:

• Report processing and data collection using Infomart, Hyperion, ArcGIS, PI, and the Water Information System (WIS)
• Physical operation of watershed infrastructure (valves, Air Vac’s, diversions, pipelines, tunnels, siphons, blow off valves, etc.)
• Dam Safety monitoring (manual piezometer readings, seep weir readings, reservoir levels, influent/effluent flows, etc.)
• Valve and equipment maintenance procedures.
• Preventative Maintenance procedures.
• Diversion structure physical operation and maintenance tasks (manual flow adjustments, cleaning, mudline operations, etc.)
