COLORADO ACADEMY is Hiring an Admission Officer - Seasonal Near DENVER, CO

Description

The Admission Officer plays an important role on the Admission team during the height of the admission season. This is a part-time, seasonal position–approximately 15-25 hours per week in the October-March timeframe.

  • Assists the Director of Upper Admission & Financial Access to support and implement enrollment goals; if time permits, assists the Director of Middle School Admission & Financial Access
  • Serves as a regular interviewer of prospective Upper School students; if time permits, serves as an interviewer for Middle School applicants
  • Reviews applications and attends all Upper School Admission Committee meetings, as well as accept/yield events
  • Assists the Director of Upper School Admission with follow-up to recommenders when requested by the Committee
  • Enhances the experience of families during the admission process
  • Assists, when needed, with Student and Parent Ambassador programs
  • Knows the CA faculty, curriculum, and students and is prepared to speak knowledgeably with prospective families 
  • Assists, when needed, at school fairs and other activities that promote recruitment and community outreach
  • Supports the team at admission events, when available

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; previous admission and/or independent school experience with an overall understanding of recruitment and enrollment management strategies that are successful, ethical, and student-centered
  • A collaborative team player who partners effectively with faculty and staff 
  • Problem solver; willingness to find new solutions and share ideas in a constructive way 
  • Knowledge of the admission field and independent schools, including principles of best practice 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse group of people including students, parents, faculty and staff 
  • Effective interviewing techniques; personable, helpful, and professional manner
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; proficient with technology
  • Discretion; diplomacy and tact; attention to professional boundaries in the handling of privileged information 
  • Models personal integrity, consistency, and reliability; possesses sound judgment
  • Represents CA positively to both internal and external constituents 
  • Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion

This position will pay $40/hr. Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. Any discrepancies that may exist do not relate to sex.
