Job Title: Unarmed Security Officer
Location: Berkeley Heights
Shift: Monday-Friday Mobile Patrol
Pay: $17.00 an hour

Key Responsibilities:

1. Patrol designated areas within the corporate facility on foot or by vehicle to prevent and detect signs of intrusion, vandalism, or other security threats.
2. Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to security breaches or unusual activities promptly.
3. Conduct thorough inspections of entrances, exits, and other access points to ensure they are secure and properly functioning.
4. Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or evacuations, and take appropriate action as trained and instructed.
5. Maintain accurate records of security-related activities, including incident reports, shift logs, and daily activity reports.
6. Provide assistance and support to employees, visitors, and contractors as needed, including directing them to their destinations and providing information about corporate policies and procedures.
7. Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders as necessary to address security concerns or incidents effectively.
8. Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge related to security procedures, emergency response, and customer service.
9. Adhere to all company policies and regulations, as well as relevant laws and regulations governing security operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Must possess a valid state-issued security officer license (SORA)
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure and handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to quickly identify and respond to potential security threats.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, as well as lift or move objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the needs of the organization.
• Demonstrated reliability, integrity, and professionalism in previous work experiences.
