Collins is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Civil/Site Project Manager to play a key role on our team in our Milwaukee office. This role will provide the opportunity to manage projects for private client site development projects for clients both public and private.

 The Project Manager plans, designs, and directs projects by performing the following duties:

  • Prepares and designs plans for site grading, drainage, paving, utilities, and roadways for public and private sector clients.
  • Ensures documents are in compliance with state and local codes, laws, ordinances and agency requirements.
  • Prepares site plans and authors due diligence studies. Leads efforts in the preparation of engineering reports, plans, and specifications.
  • Makes independent decisions within a general framework.
  • Is active in technical societies.
  • Publishes engineering papers and/or articles.
  • Responsible for projects of varying size and complexity from inception to completion.
  • Works closely with clients.
  • Takes an active role in contract negotiations, project planning, project quality, and project profitability.
  • Oversees project budgets.
  • Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
  • Plans, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of project work.

  • Ensures accurate client billings and monitors outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Provides leadership in proposal preparation, project scoping and estimating project costs.
  • Responsible for maintaining meaningful relationships with clients.
  • Represents Collins in project meetings.
  • Is available to attend meetings or events outside of normal working hours.
  • Directs and supervises the work of other engineers, drafters, and administrative staff.
  • Actively observes and acts in an appropriate manner related to safety.
  • Ensures that staff needing specialized training in health and safety procedures and practices receives such training and that safety is discussed as an important aspect of their work.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited four-year university, plus appropriate continuing education, and a minimum of 5 years of experience, with 3 years or more experience in project management.
  • Has proficient knowledge of engineering software including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.)
