The Role and Qualifications:

Collins Collins LLP is looking to hire a Paralegal with substantial civil litigation defense experience. The ideal Paralegal must be a fast learner, detail oriented and a proactive thinker with exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Ability to assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery (interrogatories, requests for admissions, request for production, document subpoenas/deposition notices,) and motions (including preparation of any supporting documents, exhibits, and tables of authorities/contents)

Ability to manage trial preparation including following specific department trial management orders, CACI jury instructions, trial exhibits, witness lists, trial notebooks, trial subpoenas, preparing video edits of deposition testimony and page lines.

Independently obtain, review, and organize medical records/medical billings, calculate damages including recoverable medical expenses, lost wages, and property damage.

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certification
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a litigation paralegal
  • Ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Solid understanding of CA civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules)
  • High proficiency in MS Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat
  • Articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills

Pay: $64,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
