Our Avionics team is looking for an Electronics Test Technician at our Melbourne, FL location. This is a skilled position in which you will plan and perform engineering development and qualification tests on various aircraft components and systems. You will also analyze and evaluate test results to verify that required parameters have been maintained to uphold the quality and performance to Collins Aerospace standards.

This position is an onsite role. Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. This position may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Follows blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met

  • Performs functional testing per part specific pre-established test procedure.

  • Monitors tests through completion, record test data, and service test equipment as required.

  • Documents acceptance or failure results.

  • Demonstrates proper use of simple hand/machine tools, electronic/manual test equipment and mechanical measuring devices.

  • Performs proper loading and unloading of electronic equipment in test beds.

  • Complies with applicable elements of quality systems and participates in continuous improvement efforts (ACE).

  • Meets internal and external customer deadlines as determined by team

  • Acquires applicable skill/knowledge/certification as required.

  • Complies with safety and hazardous waste disposal programs.

  • Follows plans for production schedules and quality requirements.

  • Understands end use of manufactured products.

  • Proficiently uses computer tools such as SAP and accurately follows work instructions.

  • Demonstrates initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.

  • Trains others for technical tasks as needed

  • Interfaces with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge, or resolve problems related to business issues.

  • Participates in waste minimization efforts.

  • Participates in audits.

  • Requests tools and supplies in accordance with project requirements as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

  • Typically requires HS diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AS in Electronics Technology education/degree

  • RF, Digital, Analog Circuit experience

  • Ability to read schematics

  • Working knowledge of DMM, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, & Spectrum Analyzer

  • Basic component level troubleshooting experience

  • This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing per FAA’s regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.
