The Mechanical Power Conversion (MPC) business unit presents a unique opportunity to eager candidates interested in participating and influencing all aspects of the technical, program, and operations management of multiple product lines. Located in Rockford Illinois, MPC is a roughly $200 M/year business supplying gearboxes, fuel and lubrication pumps, air turbine starters, and blowers to engine manufactures and airframers.

A successful candidate will lead and coach a group of engineers to plan and ensure execution of the next generation of aerospace fluid pump programs, from technology advancement, through Development and Qualification to Low Rate Production. The candidate needs demonstrated project planning, earned value management, and risk management skills.

This position is eligible for relocation assistance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate, set, and track customer aligned priorities for the pump NPI your team while developing standard work and procedures to help the team achieve those priorities.
  • Coach and develop all team members through support of their individual development plans, identifying skills gaps and stretch goals to further their growth.
  • Monitor and assess program schedules for project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Assist in communication and problem solving of difficult tasks and situations.
  • May act as a point of contact with the customers and develops understanding on customer needs to meet demands within the contracted scope.
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract.


Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

  • Typically requires University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience oran Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience orin absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical discipline.
  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer facing role.
  • Experience in the development and qualification of pumps

Employee Referral Eligible

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
