Overview

HILGARTWILSON, a subsidiary of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking a Civil Designer/E.I.T. to become a part of our growing company. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, be highly organized, be a good problem solver, be efficient, pay good attention to detail, and be a team player. HILGARTWILSON has extensive experience providing services on many of the Valley’s largest and most prestigious master-planned communities, retail, office, educational, healthcare, mixed use developments and public works projects.

Responsibilities

• Assembling construction plans and preparing submittals for reviewing agencies
• Organizing and scheduling work to accomplish goals on projects within established budgets and timelines
• Coordination with Cad Techs and other design team members
• Design small, basic projects or perform task oriented design of more complex projects
• Research and conform to applicable city/agency design guidelines, codes and checklists
• Research and acquire as-built info for the horizontal and vertical design to existing constraints
• Layout developments based on conceptual site plans
• Perform vertical grading design and earthwork analysis
• Prepare drainage calculations
• Assist with preparation of feasibility studies
• Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates
• Ensure quality control and work with CAD staff to ensure plans reflect the project design
• Perform various other design tasks under the direction others

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• 0 to 4 years of experience in civil engineering design
• An Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is preferred, or ability to pass the FE exam within 12 months of employment
• Experience in land development or site/commercial preferred
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD is required, Civil 3D is preferred
• Computer design skills including spreadsheets and scheduling
• Capable of preparing design on most projectPossess understanding of civil engineering principles and construction plans

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times• Must be able to travel to various offices and project sites when necessary
