Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Science or related field from four-year college or university. Four (4) years teaching experience and minimum of one (1) year experience in teacher leadership role(s). Must have completed the CCPS Instructional Coach Bench Academy prior to commencement of work in coaching position.
Preferred:
? Demonstrated expertise in science
? Knowledge of major theories of scientific concepts, cognition, and learning, and uses these theories to
implement a well- planned and comprehensive science program
? Knowledge of current research and evidence-based approaches to science instruction
? Proficiency in designing and delivering high-quality professional learning opportunities for teachers and
instructional support staff
? Proficiency in interpreting a range of student performance data (summative and formative) for instructional
decision making
? Ability to plan for and facilitate a group to achieve desired outcomes by working collectively to implement
instructional change
? An understanding of instructional design, and familiarity with a variety of required technology applications
(Focus, Data Warehouse, Canvas, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
? Strong interpersonal, oral communication, problem solving, and organizational skills required to effectively
facilitate coaching and professional learning
? Knowledge of district school improvement initiatives, including state science standards, disciplinary literacy,
effective instruction, and assessment practices
Must be certified in any Science 5-9 or 6-12. If at the elementary level, must also be certified in Elementary K-6.
