The Clinical Nurse Manager for the Emergency Department is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing and directing functions to ensure the effective operation of the unit. In cooperation with the leadership team, the Nurse Manager will be instrumental in developing plans, policies and procedures to efficiently provide quality care. What you will do in this role:
The Clinical Manager assists the director with the operations of the department.
He/she ensures that patient care is provided according to policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services.
The Clinical Manager is responsible for staffing a sufficient number of qualified and competent persons to provide care and assures the qualifications and competence of those staff members meet the needs of patient care services.
The Clinical Manager oversees orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of all persons in their department(s).
The Clinical Manager is responsible for interviewing and selection, retention, disciplinary actions and terminations of department employees in conjunction with the Director and Human Resources.
He/ she provides input to the director regarding space/equipment recommendations, budgetary needs, and other resources needed by the department.
What you will need in this role:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is required
2-3 years ED staff experience, leadership experience preferred (Charge, Coord., etc.)
