Salary: $60,882.00 - $81,432.00 Annually Job Type: Classified - Full-time Job Number: 6268-c-08/23 Closing: 9/13/2023 11:59 PM Pacific Location: Visalia, CA Department: Foster Care Education Program Division: General Description Under the direction of the Director of Foster Education & Basic Support, the Foster Care Services YESS/ILP Advising Specialist will be responsible for performing a variety of complex and specialized administrative duties for the implementation of the Foster Care & Kinship Education and Youth Empowerment Strategies for Success programs. Note: This is full-time, grant-funded position. Job Duties Representative Duties:
Assist the Director establish the work plans for the Foster & Kinship Care Education Program; Pre-Service Training, and Youth Empowerment Strategies for Success Program.
Monitor and coordinate workflow for timely completion of activities/and or trainings.
Conduct meetings to interpret program to prospective program participants, resource parent providers, and the public.
Conduct trainings and/or presentations as deemed appropriate.
Assist the Director in the development of curriculum for a variety of trainings as the need is identified.
Plan and coordinate special events such as guest speakers, field trips, workshops, college orientations programs and end of the year celebration events.
Monitor each YESS participant's personal development plan on a weekly basis; follow up on each participant's progress on every prescribed support activity.
Review student eligibility criteria using federal regulations to determine student eligibility for various student services programs.
Administer program assessments to determine strength and weaknesses; determine appropriate services based upon the assessment findings.
Assist with the development of informational flyers, newsletters, and other public relations material.
Assist the Director with planning, organizing and implementing the instructional, recreational and social/cultural activities outlined in the FKCE & YESS Program.
Prepare periodic and special reports and statistical data related to the program activities and effectiveness.
Represent the College program at the regional and statewide project and coordinator meetings, and attend a1l required and needed trainings for the program.
Participate in College activities and committees.
Train and provide work direction to student workers and/or volunteers and collaborative partners.
Operate a computer, related software and other office equipment.
Utilize the District's integrated software in performing the required duties of the positon.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications Education and Experience: Any combination equivalent to the following minimum qualifications: Associate's degree and two years of related work experience. Licenses and Other Requirements: A valid California driver's license. An incumbent must be insurable at the standard rate by the employer's insurance carrier at all times while employed in this classification by the College of the Sequoias.
