Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for the implementation of a model, developmentally appropriate children's program for the assigned age group (birth-3 years) within CSN's Early Childhood Education Lab Program to include the following:
- Classroom Master Teacher (children's program curriculum planning and implementation; management of the physical classroom environment; family involvement, communication, and education; children's assessment and service coordination with agency specialists).
- CSN student engagement; guidance, oversight, and feedback to CSN faculty regarding CSN student participation.
- Coaching and mentoring of childcare assistants, student workers, interns, and volunteers.
- Working within the team to achieve and / or maintain NAEYC accreditation with specific responsibility for the assigned classroom.
- Working within the team to perform ongoing and annual program evaluation and assessment.
The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.Qualified candidates have experience in and an understanding of early childhood education. They are familiar with developmentally appropriate practices and implement play-based learning. They create lesson plans, conduct on-going assessment, and analyze student data to support individual growth.
Additionally, they are strong communicators that effectively partner with families, children, co-workers and community partners.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must enroll with the Nevada Registry upon hire.
- Two years of related professional work experience with children age birth to five years.
- Must meet NAEYC accreditation standards for Classroom Teacher.
- Ability to comply with the state of Nevada Child Care Licensing Regulations.
Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education or closely related field, or Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and active enrollment in Bachelor program for Early Childhood Education or related field.
- Active member of the Nevada Registry.
- Experience working in a college / university setting.
- Experience with NAEYC accreditation standards and guidelines.
- Evidence of progressive leadership responsibilities.
- Experience working with a diverse / multicultural student body and / or workforce.
