Primary Duties and Responsibilities:The NHS PATH Grant Student Success Coach will support the efforts of of the PATH Grant in accordance with the Mission and Values of the College of DuPage. The Student Success Coach will primarily focus on recruitment, persistence, and completion of Nursing, Health Sciences certificates and degrees through a multi-layered approach. The NHS PATH Student Success Coach is tasked with developing multiple strategies to identify barriers to student success and to support students in enrollment, persistence and completion. This position is responsible for collecting a variety of data and will report to the NHS PATH Grant Project Coordinator. The NHS PATH Student Success Coach interacts with students, faculty, internal departments, administration, Consortium members and staff, as well others in the early childhood community. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality will be required. This position reports to the NHS PATH Grant Project Coordinator and is a Part-time, eight-month position on campus that may be renewed for an additional year dependent on grant funding and position outcomes.
- Assist the NHS PATH Grant Project Coordinator in the design of Nursing, Health Sciences, and Respiratory Care
databases with spreadsheets; NHS PATH Student Success Coach uses shared spreadsheets for regularly tracking
and reporting student information related to outreach, recruitment, admission, retention, persistence and
completion of Nursing, Health Sciences, and Respiratory Care certificates and degrees. - Coordinate with the NHS PATH Grant Project Coordinator to plan effective strategies to accomplish NHS
PATH objectives and carryout the implementation of those strategies. - Attend in-service and division meetings, attend NHS PATH Advisory Board meetings, participate in
professional development opportunities and complete additional trainings as requested. - Review and evaluate internal spreadsheet reports of prospective students not registered and students
registered as NHS PATH students; create separate spreadsheets with this information to reflect needed data; As
part of recruitment efforts, reach out to each student via email with program, scholarship, and contact
information; keep record of contact and course enrollment for reporting. - As assigned by the NHS PATH Project Coordinator, assist individual students with the application processes
for completion of COD certificates and degrees; Keep record (spreadsheet) of each application assistance, follow
up that those applications are complete, and record the student completions - Schedule multiple group meetings within the first two weeks of each semester, in all formats -
day/night/weekend, to review NHS PATH program policies and College policies (i.e. plagiarism, withdrawal)
and provide information about the NHS PATH Grant Scholarship; Keep record of student attendance for
reporting - Schedule regular meetings with students, do random check-ins, and proactively assist in referring to campus
resources as applicable (i.e. Center for Access, Mental Health Counselors, Fuel Pantry); Keep record of
individual meetings for reporting. - Set up individual and/or group opportunities to provide academic supports such as study skills, timemanagement,
reading and note-taking strategies; Refer students to the Learning Commons as needed for
additional supports; Keep record of individual/group meetings for reporting - As requested by the NHS PATH Grant Project Coordinator, perform recruitment duties: represent the COD
Nursing, Health Sciences and Respiratory Care programs by regularly visiting high schools, open house events to share
information regarding the NHS PATH scholarship, transfer information, and the NHS PATH program at COD;
Organize outreach events and/or meetings regularly with above mentioned entities; Keep record of visits for
reporting. - Maintain updated class roster list from all instructors
Qualifications:Education
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Health Sciences required.
Experience
Minimum of two (2) years experience working with students in advising, teaching or administrative
support role related to the subject area required.
Must have exceptional written and oral communication skills and customer relation skills.
Proficient in MS Office suite including Excel and Outlook required.
Must be highly organized, detail oriented, results driven, self-starter, collaborative, problem solver,
and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Experience working with adult students and providing support is preferred.
Travel as needed, in own vehicle, to meet requirements of the position. Flexible availability days, night and/or weekends, on and off campus, or via Zoom to meet requirements of the position. Must have a valid drivers license. This position requires a background check.
Pay Grade:Classified 13 Salary Range 27.75 - 28.85
