College Mentoring Experience Inc is Hiring a Site based Program Assistant Near Chicago, IL

Site-based Program Assistant (SBPA) (10 hours, Part-time, Every Saturday) Exempt
The Site-based Program Assistant (SBPA) is responsible for aiding with site-based mentorship activities, nurturing positive relationships between mentors and mentees, and ensuring the overall success of the mentoring program. The (SBPA) will support the Site-based Program Coordinator (SBPC) with implementing and overseeing a comprehensive mentoring program aimed at supporting the academic and personal development of students ranging from 6th grade to college. The (SBPA) reports directly to the Site-based Program Coordinator (SBPC).
Responsibilities are but not limited to:
  • Assist the Program Coordinator with marketing and outreach to promote the program and attract potential mentees
  • Assist with the planning and organization of events, workshops, and activities suitable for various age groups to enhance relationships and build a sense of community
  • Develop and curate resources, materials, and tools suitable for different age groups to support programming to enhance the overall experience for participants
  • Assist with the scheduling and communication with CME transportation and food service provider
  • Assist in the guidance and support to students facing academic, personal, or transitional challenges, connecting them with appropriate resources
  • Regularly communicate with mentees, and parents to provide updates, share resources, and address any concerns
  • Assist with the preparation of reporting for stakeholders on the progress and impact of site based programming
  • Participate in CME events and workshops in the community. Site-based events, workshops will be held each Saturday with staff meeting and some program prep hours during the weekday as required; 9am - 3pm Saturdays with 4 hours to be scheduled during the week.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field is required
  • Previous experience in mentoring programs, non-profit organizations, or related educational support initiatives
  • Must be able to successfully pass background checks
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and access to reliable transportation
  • Must have proof of COVID vaccination
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse participants and community
  • Organizational and project management skills a must
  • Knowledge of best practices in mentoring and student support services
