Collaborative Support Programs is Hiring a Senior Wellness Mentor | Community Drop-In Near Neptune, NJ

Description

CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit is looking for a part-timeSenior Wellness Mentor. The Senior Wellness Mentors acts as a leader and role model for members, visitors, and community members of the Wellness Center. The Senior Mentor fills in for the Center Manager in times of absence. The mentor understands the center mission and operations as well as basic principles of wellness/recovery and peer support. This position works directly with the wellness center manager and in collaboration with members to plan and implement center operations. The wellness center and its programs are geared towards individuals who are living and recovering from a mental health or substance use challenge by providing a safe place and opportunities for individuals to address service needs. Centers assist members in expanding their options for employment, resource acquisition, wellness activities and recreation.

Schedule: 25 Hours Per Week| NJESL Eligible

Hourly Rate: $17.50

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Knowledge of wellness, the mental health system and community resources.
  • Ability to make and maintain contacts and positive relationships with individuals who receive or have received mental health and/or substance abuse services.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Willingness to disclose current or prior use of mental health and/or addiction services and speak openly on aspects of their individual recovery.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
  • Valid NJ Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
  • Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
