Legal Assistant, Valdosta, GA (Litigation)

The law firm of Coleman Talley LLP is seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Valdosta litigation team. The ideal candidate

will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent organizational and scheduling skills, and be capable of

managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities:

1. Calendar Management: Coordinate and manage attorneys' calendars, ensuring all deadlines, court appearances,

and meetings are scheduled and updated promptly.

2. Depositions and Expert Witnesses: Arrange and schedule depositions and expert witness appearances,

coordinating logistics.

3. Records Requests: Handle requests for records and information, liaising with relevant parties to obtain necessary

documentation in a timely manner. Upon receipt of documentation, save to case file.

4. Administrative Support: Assist attorneys with a variety of administrative tasks, including drafting

correspondence, preparing legal documents, transcribing dictation, and maintaining organized case files.

5. Communication: Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, and external parties, ensuring clear and timely

communication.

6. Case Management: Assist in the organization and maintenance of case files, tracking important dates, and

supporting attorneys in case preparation.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in law firm setting as legal assistant or similar role supporting litigation team
preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is preferred.
  • Familiarity with litigation documents and processes is advantageous.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with attorneys and other support staff.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Technology:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Adobe Pro and/or Kofax.
  • Experience with NetDocuments, Centerbase or similar LMS software preferred.
