Qualifications: Basic reading and writing skills. Ability to follow directions and work independently.

Job Goal: Maintain district facilities in a clean and safe way.

Employment Terms: 12 months 238 days

Evaluation: Annually by building principal.

Regular Requirements.Stand for extended periods: twist at the neck and trunk, bend at the waist, stoop,kneel, crouch crawl; reach with hands and arms over head, above shoulders and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands and operate equipment.

Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 75 pounds.

Visual Requirements: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus .

Hearing/Speaking Requirements. Adequate to exchange information.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As Needed and Ongoing

1. Keep building and premises (sidewalks, driveways, and play areas) neat and clean at all times.
2. Know locations and proper care ad use of all fire fighting equipment.
3. Maintain clean and orderly storage rooms, including tools ad supplies. 
4. Promptly report hazards to building principals.
5. Operate and maintain buffers, sanders, vacuüm cleaners and other janitorial equipment.
6. Move equipment and or furniture when needed. Set up and remove folding tables and other equipment for lunch, recreation, or special events.

7. Make requested deliveries to classrooms.

Daily:

1. Open assigned building each morning, including lights and heat/air.
2. Sweep and mop cafeteria floor after breakfast and lunch.
3. Stock ad maintain all bathroom supplies throughout the day.
4. Sweep and mop all hallways ad rooms.
5. Perform light maintenance in and around the building.

Weekly:

1. Clean all windows, woodwork, metalwork, and door mats.
2. Dust lockers.
3. Inventory and order custodial supplies in accordance with district purchasing procedures.

Monthly:

1. Dust blinds
2. Inspect fire extinguishers, lights and ballasts,and HVAC filters.

Winter Inclement Weather:

In the event school is cancelled due to winter precipitation, restore safe parking lots, walkways, steps, ect. prior to classes resuming. This includes plowing, shoveling, de-icing and sanding.

Other:

1. Comply with all federal, state and local laws and board policies nd procedures.
2. Utilize professional behavior in all school related interactions. 
3. Perform all other tasks as requested by supervisor.
