Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Purchasing & Receiving Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for receiving, unloading, and processing deliveries, as well as maintaining accurate inventory records. They will also be responsible for ensuring the safekeeping of packages and adhering to all hazardous material shipping guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Receive, unload, and process deliveries, accounting for incoming freight based on invoices and receiving reports

- Stage merchandise by department, mark it appropriately for placement in the facility and deliver merchandise to the appropriate department

- Verify and track inventory, completing reports and logs as necessary

- Receive, store, ship, and deliver incoming and outgoing department packages and mail

- Secure the receiving room and its contents, ensuring the safekeeping of packages

- Follow all national, state, and local hazardous material shipping guidelines and regulations

- Maintain an accurate tracking system for all shipping and receiving transactions

- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager; complete safety training and certifications as required

Requirements

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience in a warehouse or shipping/receiving role preferred

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Knowledge of hazardous material shipping guidelines and regulations

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as needed
