Mission

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an experienced Loader Operator in Savannah, GA. The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Job Responsibilities

(Include, but are not limited to the following):

  • Must have a basic knowledge of the mechanics and hydraulics of the machine.
  • Must have skills to conduct an inspection checklist on equipment such as tracks, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water.
  • Must keep equipment serviced, lubricated, and in good working order, including good housekeeping.
  • Must have an understanding of control levers for movement of bucket.
  • Must have a priority for safety and welfare of workers in the trench during pipelaying operations.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of the different soil types.
  • Must have the ability to operate the vehicle safely in job site situations and follow the policies and procedures of the company.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be med by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, or walk, talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is usually required to sit for long periods. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision either naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or by audio device.
