JOB DESCRIPTION - ASSISTANT TO THE VICE PRESIDENT OF STUDENT EXPERIENCE
Full time, on-site
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Student Experience, the Assistant is responsible
for providing administrative support to the VP and division with excellence, superior customer
service, and a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
● Must have a commitment to the mission and values of Coker University.
● Maintain confidentiality and follow FERPA regulations.
● Provides support with scheduling and meeting coordination for the VP and Division.
Prepares agenda for divisional meetings, attends meetings taking minutes and prepares
for distribution and maintains records.
● Acts as the liaison between Coker and Sodexo Dining Services for day-to-day
operations. Ability to run reports and accurately maintain shared spreadsheets with
Sodexo for billing of meals for residential students. Additional responsibilities include
receiving and processing invoices for dining equipment repairs and maintaining and
updating a spreadsheet of repairs and equipment purchases.
● Liaison for contracts with Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center for the University
nurse and MUSC for the Telehealth mental health services. Receive and process
invoices for payment with attention to accuracy of charges for these contract services.
● Submits necessary maintenance requests, in a timely manner.
● Creates, plans, and implements departmental events.
● Ability to interact effectively with a diverse student body.
● Work closely with all areas of the division and assist directors as needed.
● Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
● Ability to support and implement Coker's Standards of Service
● Other duties and special projects as assigned by the Vice President for Student
Experience.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
● Minimum requirements for this position is a Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of
experience in a similar position or field.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Proficiency with technology, especially with Google Workplace and Microsoft office
software. Ability to learn to operate University specific software and applications.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
● Must be highly organized with attention to detail, disciplined, dependable, punctual, and
self-motivated.
● Presents a professional appearance and maintains a professional attitude in all
interactions with colleagues, students, and parents.
