As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Cohere Health, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our cutting-edge systems. As the Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our systems and infrastructure. Key duties include monitoring system availability, implementing automation for deployment and maintenance tasks, and proactively identifying areas for optimization.The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud platforms, hands-on experience with CI/CD processes, proficiency in scripting languages, expertise in containerization technologies, and a proactive mindset towards monitoring and problem resolution.

What you will do:

• Work on fast-paced, autonomous, agile teams to build and enhance a growing software platform
• Prior Experience as an SRE or related disciple responsible for maintaining high availability of a cloud based application, troubleshooting performance bottlenecks, configuring monitoring and alerting, and conducting incident response in a blameless environment.
• Actively participate in ensuring Cohere maintains a disciplined approach to healthcare security
• Design, deploy, and optimize cloud infrastructure, with a focus on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with cloud services and successful product releases. 
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and incident response processes to enhance system reliability and performance
• Implement best practices for cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and cost efficiency
• Utilize scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) to automate routine tasks, configuration management, and infrastructure provisioning.
• Stay abreast of the latest security trends, proactively identifying and mitigating potential vulnerabilities. 
• Work with Kubernetes to orchestrate and maintain containerized applications in production environments.
• You want to make the system better every day and are self-driven to learn all that is necessary to provide full-stack diagnostics and determine the root cause of problems
• Fixing support escalation issues, partner with engineer on call and make sure prod issues are resolved according to the SLA
• Optimizing on-call rotations & processes
• Documenting “tribal” knowledge and prod support run book

Your background & requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development lifecycle, required
• Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: C, C , Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby.
• Prior hands-on experience building data services and APIs, required
• Prior experience in healthcare and life sciences is a plus, but is not required
• Prior experience in SRE roles, working with high traffic applications, required
• Experience with algorithms and data structures or Unix/Linux systems internals (e.g., filesystems, system calls) and administration, required
• Experience architecting, developing, and troubleshooting systems, required
• You have experience working on software development teams, building and deploying data infrastructure and products
• Strong knowledge of security protocols and best practices.
• You are a team player and are interested in working at a fast-paced startup environment. 
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a team.

The salary range for this position is $150,000 to $170,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment.
