Role overview:
 
The Commissioning Engineer holds direct responsibility for developing and implementing process automation systems for renewable gas facilities at an industry-leading company within the Waste to Energy (WtE) and renewable gas sectors. These facilities encompass Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plants and Gas Upgrader Plants within the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Proven experience in managing pre-commissioning, cold and hot commissioning, and start-up work for Anaerobic Digestion (AD) and Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) Upgrader systems.
  • Strong coordination skills to supervise vendor representatives, including inspection and approval of systems, and proficient in claim management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers and internal/external engineers.
  • Experience in supervising plant trials, conducting tests, and providing practical training to customer personnel.
  • Familiarity with ensuring contract requirements, project specifics, and plant handover procedures.
  • Proficient in managing commissioning documentation and preparing reports.
  • Capability to execute supervision tasks for the Warranty and Service Department.
  • Demonstrated leadership and commitment to Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
  • Ability to incorporate HSEQ requirements into commissioning activities and conduct risk assessments.
  • Responsible for ensuring safety and HSE performance of all personnel and halting work if safety is compromised.
  • Proficient in supervising commissioning works by contractors, ensuring adherence to timelines, HSEQ standards, and approved drawings.
  • Proficient in process instruments and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to meet project commitments.
Qualifications and Education:
  • Extensive experience (7 years) as a commissioning engineer, particularly in Continuous industrial process or Power plants.
  • Proficient in interpreting functional, piping, and instrumentation diagrams, as well as electrical schematics.
  • Thorough understanding of functional industrial plant testing procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of best practices in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), with relevant training certifications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to prioritizing HSE principles and fostering a safety-first approach.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming, including Siemens S7 and Rockwell Contrologix.
  • Background in working within a global matrix organization, with international exposure being advantageous.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
**REMOTE POSITION: The Commissioning Engineer will work in the field with 70% – 90% travel and we are seeking a technician focused on start up vs. designing the plant**
