Seeking ambitious, energetic, motivated, organized, and creative individual for an IT Support Technician role in the Port of Los Angeles area. This person will be responsible for supporting Terminal Operations groups utilization of automation technology, which includes RFID, OCR and GPS solutions. Training will be provided on the terminal’s specific operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough system checks prior to each shift
• Assist in supporting and troubleshooting the Terminal Operating System
• Monitor container handling equipment outfitted with RFID and GPS solutions
• Monitor and support the Crane OCR System
• Support container handling equipment on-board displays and mobile data terminals
• Research “automation” based issues and escalate to appropriate vendors
• Perform application QA, bug isolation, and assist in enhancement designs
• Meet customer service levels and follow escalation procedures during system failures
• Provide outstanding customer service and support to clients
• Other duties as assigned

Desired Background/Skills

• Required Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field
• 2 years relevant work experience in operations or technical support functions with progressive responsibilities.
• Experience with Navis products such as N4, Express, Sparcs (TOS – Terminal Operating System).
• Strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving skills evidenced by demonstrated results in past positions
• Ability to learn quickly, and efficiently and have a curiosity towards how things work.
• Ability to work safely and independently when necessary.

• The ports are highly secured areas. Final candidates must pass a criminal/professional background check.

Available Schedules:

• Night Shift: Sunday - Wednesday, 4pm-3am
• Hoot Shift: Wednesday - Saturday, 9pm-7am
• Swing Shift: Monday - Friday, 11am-8pm

Work Location: In person, Onsite

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 80 per week
