Cognitive Center is Hiring a Kitchen Staff Near Bakersfield, CA

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for the clients, staff, and visitors of a small company mental health facility. The Housekeeper will be expected to perform a variety of cleaning tasks, such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces. They will work closely with the rest of the facility's staff to ensure that the facility is always clean and welcoming.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, and utensils
  • Clean and sanitize food preparation work stations
  • Assist in the food preparation process by cutting, chopping, slicing, and washing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients
  • Follow all food health and safety requirements
  • Assist with the unloading of deliveries and their proper storage
  • Communicate kitchen needs to supervisors
  • Interact with client as needed
  • Perform routine cleaning tasks throughout the facility, including patient rooms, common areas, bathrooms, and administrative areas.
  • Sweep and mop floors; dust and clean surfaces; empty trash and recycling bins; and restock supplies as needed.
  • Clean and sanitize all bathroom fixtures, including toilets, and sinks.
  • Wash and fold linens and towels, and make beds in patient rooms.
  • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines when using cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate staff member.
  • Respond to requests from patients, staff, and visitors regarding cleaning services.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Additional duties as required.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods.
  • Physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a focus on cleanliness and safety.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Working Conditions:

The Housekeeper will work in a mental health facility that may be occupied by patients with varying degrees of mental and emotional distress. They may be exposed to unpleasant odors, bodily fluids, and hazardous materials. The Housekeeper may need to work some weekends and holidays, as well as adjust their schedule to accommodate emergencies or special events. They will be required to wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment when necessary.

Physical Requirements:

The Housekeeper must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time. They must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. They must have good eyesight and hearing, and be able to speak and understand English fluently.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
