Physicial Therapy Tech / Receptionist

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Performs duties necessary to ensure smooth, efficient patient entry to the rehabilitation program.
  • Answers phone, schedules patients, performs general, clerical and accounting duties of the rehabilitation services.

OVERVIEW

The evaluation is to assure individual performance, departmental goals and organizational goals are aligned. It is designed to support communication between the manager and the employee.

Employee perception of their own performance is very important. To maximize the benefit of this process, both the manager and the employee participate in the evaluation process.

JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

Below are those tasks, duties, and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the position’s purpose and objectives.

Following are the essential functions of the position, along with the corresponding performance standards.

  • Receptionist Duties :
  • Coordinates phone communication including doctor's office, insurance companies and suppliers.
  • Keeps statistical records and monthly report summaries.
  • Participates in development and research for charging structure including medical coding and CPT coding.
  • Reviews and maintains personnel attendance records.
  • Audits medical records.
  • Collects monies as appropriate.
  • Fills in during Office Coordinators absence.
  • Answers phone disseminates information to appropriate parties.
  • Schedules patients
  • Coordinates phone communication, including doctor's offices, insurance companies, and suppliers.
  • Medical records management of rehabilitation services.
  • Typing and report completion as required.
  • Other duties as capable and assigned by supervisor.
  • Outpatient registration for physical therapy services.
  • Maintains a good working relationship both within the department and other departments.
  • Physical Therapy Technician Duties :
  • Monitors vital signs, maintains adequate knowledge base regarding cardiovascular and respiratory precautions for the patient undergoing physical medicine services and treatments.
  • Maintains patient medical forms, evaluations and educational handout distribution material.
  • Assists in record keeping of patient files.
  • Communicates any changes in condition (physical or mental) to staff physical therapist, nursing and other facility personnel as appropriate.
  • Orders, stocks, and maintains accurate records of adaptive equipment.
  • Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly. Maintains departmental cleanliness and safety.
  • Transports patients according to scheduled appointment times; maintains compliance with safety policies during transport at all times.
  • Prepares and cleans treatment area for patient use consistently. Performs final cleaning at close of department, in preparation for first morning patient.
  • Records treatment / service revisions in accordance with departmental policy.
