“The Deputy Director, under the guidance of the Director, organizes all phases of emergency response for the Emergency Management Board. Primarily responsible to prevent, minimize and repair injury and damage resulting from natural, technological or human caused events. During periods of emergency assist with direction of emergency personnel, both private and public. Develops emergency operational plans. Obtain vital supplies and equipment needed for the protection of life and property. Develops all mutual aid plans and agreements for cooperation between entities. Prepares and conducts emergency preparedness briefings and training; Conducts floodplain determinations and prepare supporting documentation. Responds to hazardous material incidents occurring within Coffee County. Employee is subject to work nights, week-ends and holidays, and to be available for on call duty. Assumes Director’s duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Director. Employee will be expected to obtain advanced certification through FEMA and State entities. Employee will perform other duties as assigned.”
