SUMMARY:

Provides general support to the Facility Maintenance Department with a variety of maintenance activities and related tasks. The Waste/Fresh Water Technician will perform all aspects of maintenance and repair for the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel and related facilities water and wastewater systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain records and documentation to ensure the highest quality of customer service.
  • Collect waste water system samples for routine monthly tests and deliver to laboratory.
  • Operate, maintain, and repair water system equipment and sewage pumping stations and facilities including chlorination, control systems, and pumping station equipment.
  • Repair and test portable water meters.
  • Collect and record meters, chlorine residuals, water, and wastewater system data.
  • Perform routine flushing of water system and maintain fire hydrants.
  • Operate and maintains water reservoirs.
  • Perform routine maintenance including exercising valves and checking for leaks.
  • Locate sewer and water lines.
  • Prevent contamination of water sources.
  • Maintain and observe water well, drinking water, storage systems, lift stations, pumps, and ponds for potential dangers and problems.
  • Perform exterior maintenance including painting, roof maintenance, window washing, changing filters, and maintenance and/or repair of air conditioner/heating and propane systems. 
  • Sweep parking lots, remove litter, empty garbage, and change liners of all outside trash receptacles on a daily basis to maintain a high level of appearance.
  • Clean and maintain back area of casino, employee’s parking lot, and dumpster area and ensure dumpster is emptied prior to all events.
  • Ensure customers and employees safety through snow plowing, shoveling, sanding, and de-icing as needed.
  • Perform landscaping; maintain sprinkler system; and fertilize grass, trees, shrubs, plants and greenery to resort level appearance.
  • Complete work orders as assigned.
  • Keep Facility Maintenance Manager aware of any system problems.
  • Communicate vital information to EPA, customers, and management.
  • Attend all department team meetings, workshops, and training sessions as delegated by manager.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and provide evidence of a good driving record.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others.
  • Knowledge of operation of power equipment, hand tools, and related safety equipment required.
  • Possess demonstrated initiative, flexibility, organization skills, and dependability in performance of duties.
  • Knowledge and abilities necessary to assist in facility repairs, including plumbing fixtures, independently preferred.
  • Must have a positive and productive attitude.
