SUMMARY

The Coeur Spirit Training Specialist is a crucial position within the Coeur Spirit Training Department. Under the direction and supervision of the Training Program Manager, the Training Specialist will work with supervisors, managers and directors to develop and deliver training programs specific to departmental needs for the Coeur d’Alene Casino Resort Hotel. Will assist in the assessment of training needs and the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs including COEUR Spirit Program, position specific trainings that facilitate the professional development, and continuous learning of team members.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement, and manage position specific trainings.
  • Conduct training needs analysis and design training programs based upon needs analysis.
  • Formulate teaching outline and determine instructional methods, utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of such methods.
  • Assist Program Manager and/or outside consultants with preparing and administering various training programs.
  • Assist department leaders in evaluating and/or selecting appropriate offsite training programs as needed.
  • Assist Program Manager in organizing and developing training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
  • Track trainings, training attendance, and certifications in a system such as the human resources information system.
  • Schedule the appropriate classrooms and ensure preparation of the physical setup, including clean up
  • Develop, maintain, edit and deliver training for multiple layers of customer service, basic team member performance, and team member development topics.
  • Maintain positive work relationship with all other supervisory and management personnel to ensure effective cross-departmental communications and to present a strong team environment and united workplace.
  • Design and administer training and development surveys to determine the effectiveness of training programs. Review completed surveys with the Program Manager and develop action plans to improve training as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel files, records, etc.
  • Provide annual report on training accomplishments and areas in need of improvement
  • Provide policy clarification, issue resolution, and general human resource support to department managers and employees. Make appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be 21 years of age and have a minimum of a high school diploma.
  • An AA Degree is preferred, but willing to supplement education with job related experience that demonstrates the ability to perform successfully in the position.
  • Must have at least two years of experience in a Training related position or Human Resources.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be a positive and friendly individual with demonstrated experience with Guest Service.
  • Prior experience with public speaking and presenting information required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CDA Tribal Gaming License (Class B).

KNOWEDLGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Must have knowledge of InfoPath, Publisher and a tracking system such as HRIS data entry.

  • Professional conduct including good attendance record and ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality a must.

Will be required to work on a computer for extended amounts of time.

The work environment is mostly an office setting, with exposure to the gaming floor and smoke. The Training Specialist will be required to stand for prolong periods of time while conducting trainings, and be required to speak in a group setting. The noise level is moderate, wish occasional loud settings.
