For current REGISTERED NURSE - RN employees of Cody Regional Health

who would like to cross-train to the ACU or CCU department.

**To be considered for cross-training, RNs must have one (1) year of nursing experience, and a minimum of six (6) months at CRH.

PURPOSE

Cody Regional Healthpromotes a culture of teamwork, utilization of staffing resources, and opportunities to increase knowledge and skills through the Cross Training Program.

PROCESS & PROCEDURE

Nurses interested in cross-training to the ACU or CCU department will apply for a cross-training position through the hospital website. Cross-training listings will be listed as “Internal Applicants Only”. When online applications are submitted for cross-training, the application must be approved by both the employee’s current Director and the Director of the department they are interested in cross-training to. Once the application is approved, the employee must be in contact with the Clinical Educator to sign the job description for the position they will cross-train to, and to complete any additional education requirements. Following completion of this, the department Director is responsible for filling out the I.S. Access Request form. The staff member is able to begin cross-training. The employee will need to complete a competency checklist for the department they are cross-training to, and return the completed checklist to the Clinical Educator before the employee is able to work independently in the cross-trained department. 

Each year the employee is required to complete the Cross Training Annual Renewal Form, and review with the Director in order to verify competency to the cross-trained departments. The completed form is to be routed to the Clinical Educator prior to December 31st of each year.
