Cockerham Food Mart #6 located at 52 Farmers Market Rd. Hillsville, VA is looking for full-time Assistant Manager.

We are looking for an Assistant Manager who can support the Store Manager in providing an excellent work environment that is both fun and productive. Position is responsible for assisting the Store Manager by providing leadership, development and motivation of Store Associates. Position is required to deliver excellence in customer service and support the assigned store in maximizing sales and revenue growth while meeting all operational goals and standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

• Promote a culture of “Excellence in Customer Service”.
• Promote an atmosphere of high energy, positive attitude, and sales focused staff.
• Ability to resolve/mediate complaints and problems as they arise from customers and employees.
• Ability to maintain a calm professional attitude under stressful conditions.
• Ensures compliance regarding all company policy, procedures, and practices.
• Adheres to and follow all Federal Labor Guidelines, OSHA policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide the safest possible environment for employees and customers.

Qualification/Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Valid Driver’s License.

· Proven leadership experience and/or history of a successful Assistant Manager or Retail Assistant Management experience.

· Excellent leadership and communication skills.

· Available to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours when and if necessary.

· Ability to perform physical tasks, lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours), climb ladders, tolerate chemical smells such as gasoline, tolerate cold temperatures (38 degrees).
