Job Description

The Cash Applications Supervisor will be responsible for leading a team of Cash Applications Specialists to ensure that all payments received through our bank and lockbox are accurately applied then posted in accordance with established SLA guidelines. The Cash Applications Supervisor will be accountable for adherence to strict monthly cash close deadlines. They will monitor credit card activities, communicate NSF payments, maintain customer MICR information for auto cash application and ensure the accurate coding of all unapplied cash and short payments. The ideal candidate for this position will have recent demonstrable experience with supervising cash applications processes in SAP along with experience working within the beverage industry.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise the cash applications team and oversee the cash application process to ensure the timely and accurate posting and balancing of all outstanding check, ACH and credit card payments received
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to cash applications staff
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly cash reconciliation reporting for AR Manager and Cash Accountant
  • Monitor and communicate NSF activity through accurate reporting to key stakeholders
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and JSOX relative to cash application processes, adjustments, write offs and other cash activities
  • Process manual credit card payments in accordance with PCI compliance standards
  • Promptly identify, research, review and code any unapplied cash to ensure resolution within established SLA guidelines
  • Continually seek out and recommend process improvements then implement changes to improve overall efficiencies in cash applications
  • Serve as subject matter expert and escalation point for all cash processes, applications and customer inquiries
  • Assists with preparation and review of information for internal and external audit requests
  • Foster important business relationships both internal and external to the organization
  • Perform additional AR project work and responsibilities as requested by manager

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred
  • 5 years of related Cash Applications supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills both internal and external to the organization
  • Recent hands-on experience with SAP strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including: Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint required
  • Excellent problem solving, analysis, organizational and time management skills
  • Strong customer service mindset
  • Ability to lead and thrive in a fast-paced changing environment
