Coca-Cola Bottling Company High Country is Hiring a Cost Accountant Near Rapid City, SD

Description

Job Purpose

As part of the Business Support Services Team, the Cost Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions consisting of product costing, product manufacturing analysis and inventory valuation. Additionally, this role is responsible for reconciling general ledger accounts and preparing financial reports. This position also manages vendor maintenance. The Cost Accountant plays an integral part in providing financial, administrative & clerical services to ensure effective, efficient & accurate financial and administrative operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform month end close activities related to Cost Accounting.
  • Prepare various financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, and expense information as needed for decision making support.
  • Prepare outside sales pricing analysis.
  • Set up new raw material, packaging, full goods, bill of materials, and maintain periodic cost rolls/updates.
  • Analyzes actual production costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Ensure validity and accuracy of inventory valuation through analysis, internal audit, and coordination with inventory control, production and work order processing.
  • Maintain Laid in Cost Manager in the inventory system for raw materials and manufactured products.
  • Set up all new vendors in accounting software.
  • Production/Manufacturing software expert or resource.

General Duties:

  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts for the organization.
  • Assist in annual financial statement audit responsibilities.
  • Provide reports as needed to management.
  • Pleasantly answer multi-line phone as needed for backup support to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Conform with, abide by and re-enforce all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  • Follow and maintain all internal control policies.
  • Provide general support for other positions in the Business Support Services Department.
  • Work with all levels of the company employees as a team striving to achieve common goals.

Requirements

 Education and Experience

  • Two Year Degree in Accounting required.
  • Proficient in MS Office spreadsheet application and experience in other MS Office products.
  • Experience with Great Plains accounting software preferred.
  • Cost accounting and payroll processing experience preferred.
