Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Take and record vital signs, including temperature, blood pressure, and pulse
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers
- Observe and report any changes in patients' condition to the nursing staff
- Follow infection control procedures and maintain a clean and safe environment for patients
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Nursing Assistant or in a similar role is preferred
- Knowledge of patient assessment techniques and ability to recognize changes in patients' condition
- Familiarity with anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience providing primary care to patients in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, assisted living facilities, or dialysis centers
- Ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Proficiency in performing IV infusions and administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Experience in providing specialized care for patients with dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Skills:
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Compassionate and empathetic approach towards patient care
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods
