Cobb Energy Centre is a premier venue for Broadway shows, ballet, concerts, educational shows, family performances, opera, corporate meetings, and events.

We are currently seeking Floor Captains. The Floor Captain will be responsible for the supervision of volunteer ushers during events scheduled at Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. They will be responsible for ensuring superior customer service to all guests, visitors, and attendees at events. Position reports to the Patron Services Supervisors.

The position is On Call (Part Time) and Floor Captains must usher at least three times in every sixty (60) day period to remain active.

Duties Include:

Provide supervision and guidance for assigned staff of volunteers.

a. Assist Patron Services Supervisors with preparation and delivery of new volunteer orientation programs.

b. Train volunteer personnel on:

i. Emergency procedures; emergency exit locations

ii. Facility policies and procedures

iii. Seating charts; facility floor plan; portal locations

iv. Accessible accommodations

v. Run of show usher duties

vi. Facility personnel

vii. Correct greeting and responses to guests

viii. Handling latecomers, incorrect seat assignments, and other guest related matters

c. Maximize the efficient utilization of volunteers. Schedule volunteers based on event requirements

d. Monitor and evaluate volunteer performance to determine appropriate assignment of duties.

Conduct Floor Captain briefings to brief volunteers on specifics for each event

a. Assign and Coordinate usher activities including preparation of programs and inserts

b. Assign volunteer positions

c. Check for adherence to uniform standards

d. Insure that front of house and patron areas are in order

e. Instruct ushers to silence all cell phones and electronic devices

f. Check location and position of chairs, program stands, and any event specific equipment or set up.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
