Job Description

Responsible for building and maintaining our data lake, ingestion and consumption data pipelines / services and facilitating the movement of large data each day. Works directly with business teams and platform and engineering teams to ensure growth strategies at CoBank.

Essential Functions

• Set the vision and strategy for data management and utilization.
• Oversee multiple Data Engineering teams.
• Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies in data engineering.
• Ensure data governance, compliance, and security standards are met.

Education

• Master's Degree required

Work Experience

• 8 years of relevant experience in data engineering or a related field, required
• Prior Experience in leadership roles including experience managing direct reports, required
• Expertise in data architecture and optimization, required
• Leadership and strategic planning, required
• In-depth knowledge of data engineering technologies and trends, required (Data Lakehouse, Athena, Pipelines, Glue)
• Expertise in Cloud Data Engineering, required
• In-depth knowledge of cloud concepts, especially AWS, required
• In depth experience with data management
• Experience with Agile
• Visionary leadership, required
• Executive communication, required
• Business acumen and strategic thinking, required
• Expertise with AWS development environment and services
• Experience building self-service tooling and platforms
• Built and designed Data Mesh architecture platforms
• A passion for building and running continuous integration pipelines
• Contributed to open-source projects (Ex: Operators in Airflow)

About CoBank

The typical base pay range for this role is between $169,462 - $235,637. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
