Job Title: Armed School Security Officer

Position Overview: The Armed School Security Officer will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within the school premises. This position requires a combination of security expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to the well-being of our school community.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide a visible and reassuring security presence on school grounds to deter potential threats and unauthorized access.

2. Monitor access points to the school, ensuring only authorized individuals enter the premises.

3. Respond promptly and effectively to security incidents, emergencies, and other situations that may arise within the school environment.

4. Conduct regular patrols of school buildings, parking lots, and surrounding areas to identify and address security concerns.

5. Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and local law enforcement to develop and implement security plans and procedures.

6. Assist in the implementation of crisis management protocols, including lockdown procedures and evacuation plans.

7. Maintain open and effective communication with students, staff, and visitors, providing guidance and assistance when necessary.

8. Participate in ongoing training sessions related to security procedures, emergency response, and other relevant topics.

9. Maintain accurate and detailed reports of security-related incidents and activities.

10. Any other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in security or law enforcement is highly desirable.

2. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in armed security or a related field, with a preference for those with experience in an educational setting.

3. Firearms Proficiency: Demonstrated proficiency with firearms. 

4. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with students, staff, and parents.

5. Crisis Management: Ability to remain calm under pressure and follow established protocols during crisis situations.

6. Background Check: Successful completion of a thorough background check, including criminal history and fingerprinting.
