The Home Visiting Family Advocate supports and encourages families enrolled in Coastal Family Partners’ (CFP) Home Instruction for Parents of Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program. This individual enlists parental involvement throughout a 30-week educational program; works with parents to assess their families' needs; provides referrals to enhance family well-being; and regularly inputs family progress within a computer database. The Family Advocate also facilitates positive relationships with parents, coworkers, and other key stakeholders.
The HIPPY Family Advocate reports to the HIPPY Team Leader for daily tasks.
Essential Functions
*Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS –positive interpersonal skills, willingness to learn new procedures, ability to communicate the program to parents, community members, and coworkers. Must be comfortable with using basic office equipment, including a computer and basic software applications such as Microsoft Office.
KNOWLEDGE -fluency in the English language, ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
TRAVEL Travel up to 25%. Must be insurable by the agency's insurance provider for driving during business hours.
Education and Experience:
Clearances- Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance/Motor Vehicle Report clearance as driving is an essential job function/CA/N
