**Job Overview:**
We are seeking a detail-oriented Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate must have experience in medical office settings and possess knowledge of medical terminology, coding, the insurance claims process, and insurance verification. This position is heavily focused on ultrasound and surgical procedure prior authorizations.
**Responsibilities:**
- Process prior authorization requests for medical procedures and services.
- Verify insurance coverage and ensure all necessary documentation is complete
- Communicate with healthcare providers, office staff, insurance companies, and patients regarding authorization status
- Maintain accurate records of authorizations and follow-up activities
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies
- Collaborate with medical staff to obtain additional information for authorization requests
