Overview

The Accounting Analyst will participate in the monthly close process, complete analysis of accounts, reconcile account statements, ensure the accuracy of system processes, and assist in implementing system changes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with budgeting and monthly close processes and annual audit preparation.
• Provide financial analysis support for department managers by developing ad hoc reports, special studies, and financial analysis which drive the behavior of the business.
• Participate in the monthly close processes including preparation of journal entries and closing schedules.
• Assist with internal or external audit preparation and requests.
• Participate in the implementation and configuration of new financial systems or procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of ERP Systems, preferably Oracle NetSuite, and computer skills to effectively use software to analyze financial information, identify trends, and make forecasts.
• Analytical skills to process large amounts of information using advanced knowledge of MS Excel and/or MS Access.
• Demonstrated understanding of GAAP accounting. Knowledge / experience with accounting for fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization schedules for debt and leases.
• Open and communicative nature with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Awareness and reliability of timelines for the timely and accurate reporting of financial performance.
• Highest degree of integrity and character who takes “ownership” of responsibilities. Can work with little supervision and meet due dates.
• Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Must exercise diplomacy, discretion, sound judgment, and flexibility in varying situations, and must maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of standard accounting policies, procedures, and systems.
• Sales tax experience/knowledge is a plus.
• Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to develop alternative solutions to problems; comparing and analyzing data; preparing clear, concise, thorough, meaningful, and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memoranda, and other documents.
• Strong analytical skills a must.
• Ability to independently plan, organize, prioritize, schedule, coordinate, and make decisions relating to assigned tasks and responsibilities.
• Knowledge of Great Plains system, NetSuite and Windows operating systems software including, but not limited to Word, Excel Pivot tables and V- Lookups, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications (Experience, Education, Licensure, Certification)

• Associates degree in bookkeeping or accounting required.
• Four degree in accounting/finance preferred.

Working Conditions

The Accounting Analyst will work in areas that are highly visible and designed and furnished to make a good impression. Most workstations are clean, well-lighted, and relatively quiet. Work is primarily sedentary in nature.
