Principal Security Engineer

Location: Chicago or Dallas (hybrid, 3-days on-site)

Glocomms are partnered with a leading Financial Services firm in the search for a technically hands-on Principal Security Engineer to join a new division within the organization focusing on technology strategy and innovation. The new division has been founded to research new and innovative tools and technologies to integrate into the business whilst ensuring they work accordingly with the existing infrastructure and comply with the business’s standards and regulatory requirements.

In this role you’ll have full autonomy to research new tools and technologies, conduct testing exercises, proof-of-concepts, and get creative with your own security-focused projects, all with the aim of further developing the firms and client’s security posture in areas of Network Security, Cloud Security, Database Security, System Security, and Offensive/Defensive Security.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as a key contributor to the firm’s technology platform design, testing, and implementation.
• Introduce new tools and technologies to improve existing technology infrastructure using a zero-trust approach.
• Create the test criteria for new platforms, products, technologies, and ensure they align with business and security objectives.
• Spearhead stress tests, identify security risks, and proof-of-concepts to present to senior leaders.
• Cross-collaborate with technology, security, engineering, and GRC teams across the business to identify a strategic technical roadmap.
• Create security awareness documentation for new technologies being integrated into the business.
• Develop and maintain testing environment for the firms on-prem and cloud environment.
