Schedule: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00 pm
Salary Range: $46,000 - $55,000, based on experience
Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Purpose/Customers
The purpose of this position is to ensure that both ingredients and finished goods meet and exceed customer expectations. To ensure the safety of our products and that all nutritional information is correct and in compliance. Maintain customer spec sheets and handle customer document requests. The customers of this position are customers and end consumers as well as internal Coalescence departments. This position follows company product safety, legality, and quality systems.
General Description
  • Assist in maintaining company’s Food Safety and Quality Programs such as supplier approval program, GMPs, Food Fraud Program, document control, and other certification programs.
  • Responsible for updating approved suppliers’ documents on file for future audit use and potential recall information. Participate in mock recall or traceability practices.
  • Creating and maintaining product spec sheets on all new and existing products
  • Preform start-up meetings for new products
  • Approve all customer packaging
  • Create, maintain and verify all nutritional’s on all products, ensure N&I’s are compliant with regulations, and review all claims and make sure they meet regulations
  • Perform daily internal inspection and internal auditing program.
  • Generate production folder including staging sheet, production forms, production instructions, labels, etc.
  • Review and verify test results, production records. Manage product release and create Certificate of Analysis with accurate information for finished products.
  • Manage internal lab, lab waste control, and out-sourced labs.
  • Lead laboratory operations, food analysis, method validation, and equipment calibration.
  • Conduct statistical analysis on product quality performance and optimization.
  • Report internal findings, non-conformances, foreign materials to Quality Systems Manager and Director of FSQA.
  • Report sanitation and pest control related issues to the service providers.
  • Assist Quality Systems Manager and Director of FSQA to review, update, and implement Quality and Food Safety Programs.
  • Assist in fulfilling customers’ requests.
  • Assist Director of Quality for the implementation of the Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO Project Verified, Gluten-Free programs and audits.
  • Must attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as requested by the Quality Systems Manager and Director of FSQA.
Required experience and skills
  • Degree in Science preferred or equivalent experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated effective Food Safety knowledge (i. e. HACCP, Allergen Control, Sanitation, GMPs, etc.).
  • General knowledge of regulatory guidelines related to baking, food preparation, etc., the FDA and other regulatory agencies. Have an understanding of the industry in order to be able to develop nutritional information.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • This job may require physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing and lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.
  • May be exposed to minor dust and noise levels.
  • Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required
