Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Construction Manager to oversee and manage construction activities related to electrical transmission and distribution systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient execution of construcWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Project Manager to oversee our projects from conception to completion. The T&D Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and according to quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical skills to manage complex projects in the energy sector.

Project Planning:

  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Project Execution:

  • Lead project teams and manage resources effectively.
  • Monitor project progress and performance against established metrics.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Address issues and obstacles to keep projects on track.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and risks to stakeholders, including clients, management, and regulatory authorities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Prepare and present reports, presentations, and documentation as needed.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Manage project budgets and expenditures, tracking costs and ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation.
  • Review and approve project invoices, change orders, and contracts.

Quality and Safety Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance processes to deliver projects that meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within project teams.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and address potential hazards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
  • PMP or similar project management certification is desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in managing T&D projects for an Electrical Utility.
  • Strong understanding of transmission and distribution systems, equipment, and technologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, SAP).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to T&D projects.
