COAL COUNTY GENERAL HOSPITAL is Hiring a Clinic Manager Near Coalgate, OK

Job Summary: In coordination with the Office/Clinic Manager supervises and coordinates activities of office staff. Prepares work schedules and expedites workflow. Responsible for the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the office/clinic. Keeps the physician(s) informed of both progress and potential problems. Assists with the direction and evaluation of patient care delivery. Ensures office/clinic supplies are at an adequate level, places orders as necessary.

  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring and firing of staff for the clinic.
  • Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provides for professional growth and development of patient care staff through identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education (formal and continuing) efforts and evaluation of same.
  • Responsible for completion of regular performance evaluations for each staff member; conducts evaluations for new staff prior to completion of probationary period.
  • Counsels employees, develops staff and, as appropriate, utilizes the disciplinary process.
  • Monitors patient scheduling, referrals for HMOs.
  • Responsible for safety and comfort of patients, and the health and safety of staff.
  • Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Supports and maintains a culture of safety and quality.
  • Collaborates with ancillary support services to provide a safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Responsible for resolving patient complaints.
  • Ability to coordinate and direct the patient accounting function in order to consistently produce accurate bills which are paid in a timely manner.
  • Monitors activities continually with collection agencies, insurance companies, patients and physicians; recommends corrective action as appropriate.
  • Develops, justifies and maintains a fiscal plan (budget) for the office. Monitors patient revenues, expenses and operating expenses (salaries and capital expense items) and provides appropriate reports to the Administrator/Physician(s).
  • Maintains a current awareness of third-party reimbursement regulations and contractual arrangements with HMOs and PPOs.
  • Monitors utilization of equipment and supplies; orders supplies as needed.
  • Effectively maintains all required records for the clinic; demonstrates good organizational skills.
  • Plans and conducts staff meetings.
  • Works with the medical staff to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
  • Participates in performance improvement, including utilization and promotion of familiarization with performance improvement standards and programs.
  • Assumes the role of patient advocate respecting guidelines found in the Patient Bill of Rights.
  • Assumes responsibility for own personal continuing education and developmental needs; attends meetings, workshops to enrich personal knowledge, growth and management skills.
  • Demonstrates the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

Regulatory Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three (3) year management/supervisory experience preferably in a medical setting.
  • Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.
  • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, third party payers.

Language Skills:

  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Medical Terminology

Skills:

  • Basic computer knowledge.
