COA Youth and Family Centers, Inc. is Hiring an Early Education Center Teacher (Full-time and Part-time) Near Milwaukee, WI

Title : Early Education Center Teacher

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Earnings: $15.00 - $19.00 based on relevant qualifications and experience

    Make a difference and improve the lives of young children!

    This position is responsible for the programming in the classroom including implementation and maintenance of standards. This position is full-time, year round, and eligible for health insurance plans (medical, dental, vision), Life Insurance, Employee Assistant Program (EAP), Retirement plan benefit and 11 paid holidays.

    The program is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m . (Part-time hours available)

    Pre-hire: fingerprint background check, drug test, and references required.

    Main Job Responsibilities

    • Actively, using care and love, engage with the children, both individually and in groups, using developmentally appropriate practices, programs, and curricula.
    • Manage child behavior through appropriate discipline methods, including redirection and positive reinforcement.
    • Complete all records and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.
    • Responsible for tracking and fulfilling continuing education requirements and submitting records.

      Qualifications

      • Must meet requirements for Assistant Teacher per DCF 251.
      • Must have Shaken Baby Syndrome training certificate
      • Must be computer literate: able to use Word to create, edit and format documents and flyers as well as Excel to enter in and manipulate data
      • Must commit to getting a Registry certificate within 6 months, being trained on CPR/First Aid within 3 months, and submitting proof of a physical examination completed not more than 12 months prior to nor more than 30 days after hire.
      • Flexibility to work in different program areas and age groups - is a team player
      • Patience, positive attitude, and cultural competency
      • The physical requirements for the positon are the ability to:
      • lift and carry up to 35 pounds throughout the day
      • sit, stand, and bend for long periods of time
      • move quickly to safely evacuate children within certain time limits
      • actively engage with children in various activities (e.g., physical movement, dramatic play, on-the-floor play, etc.)
