Summary: Provides nursing services to patients in the assigned office and surgery setting by performing the following duties.

Required Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Places patients in rooms, assists with recording and taking vital signs. Records patient history, medications, and significant changes.

1. Performs all prescribed injections.

1. Performs phlebotomy successfully.

1. Collects and labels specimen as outlined in lab orders/requisitions.

1. Transports specimens to the lab promptly for testing.

1. Starts, maintains, and discontinues IV lines under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

1. Maintains factual and thorough health care records.

1. Triages patient problems, questions, and concerns to the appropriate area.

1. Communicates, reviews, and records all laboratory results under the direct supervision of a provider or a registered nurse.

1. Sends prescriptions to pharmacies as prescribed by physician.

1. Cleans, stocks, and maintains all exam rooms.

1. Assists physicians with embryo transfers when necessary.

1. Participates in training, conferences, staff development, and continuing education programs pertaining to area of expertise.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one year of technical training. Must be a graduate of an approved LPN/LVN School of Nursing.
