Privacy By Design Consultant

Salary Range : $84,800 - $127,200 Annual

Job Details

The stated pay range is based on a national-average location. Actual salary is determined by factors including relevant work experience, skills and location. This position is bonus eligible.

CNO Financial Group’s Privacy Team is hiring a Privacy by Design Consultant to collaborate and engage cross functionally to implement strategies that incorporate privacy principles and data protection measures within the design of organizational processes and technologies used to support CNO's business. This role will also develop and implement strategies to automate data retention/deletion policies as part of a multi-year enterprise initiative. This job will play a leading role in cultivating a strong culture of Privacy throughout the organization.

As a Privacy by Design Consultant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Serve as Product Owner for multi-year enterprise initiative implementing technical solutions to automate data retention/deletion policy management.
  • Develop project plans, milestones, and ensure timely delivery of performance targets associated with enhancing data retention/deletion practices.
  • Lead cross functional resources in conducting deep dive reviews of business processes, upstream/ downstream data flows and integration points as needed to improve data lifecycle management and compliance with state and federal privacy and cyber security regulations.
  • Collaborate with Legal Operations, Compliance and Records Management partners to develop actionable strategies needed to align records management types/categories to specific data sources and repositories.
  • Collaborate with Data Governance and Cyber Security partners to develop recommendations and strategies for embedding privacy and data protection measures into all phases of organizational processes and technologies.
  • Develop guidelines and resources for technical collaborators that support the implementation of Privacy design principles in business application delivery and technical integrations.

The Privacy by Design Consultant position is well-suited for you if you:

  • Possess strong subject matter expertise in privacy principles, US and global privacy laws.
  • Have implemented one or more aspects of Privacy by Design in a complex organization.
  • Apply, at a high level, the data mapping and automated assessment functions of OneTrust Privacy and Data Governance Platform.
  • Work in an Agile environment as Product Owner.
  • Create actionable work plans, oversee to completion, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced and/or ambiguous environment.
  • Articulate information and ideas orally and in writing; ability to communicate compelling ideas to impact and influence decision making.
  • Work cross functionally with employees at all levels to ensure efficient integration of privacy requirements into business operations.
  • Switch between task-oriented approach and strategic perspective, adapting as needed to fulfill evolving needs of the organization.
  • Demonstrate superior critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effectively communicate and build strong relationships with technical and non-technical resources at all levels of the organization.
  • Show superior interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor's Degree or 8 years of directly related work experience.
  • At least one active CIPP certification and willingness to obtain additional certification(s) within one year of hire (CIPP-US, CIPP-PM, CIPP-EU, CIPP-T)
  • 5 years of directly related work experience.

What will set you apart:

  • Masters Degree/MBA in IT management or other technology related field; marketing/digital commerce.
  • Certifications/Licenses: CIPP-US, CIPP-PM, CIPP-EU and CIPP-T; CISSP; Certified PM; Certified Scrum Master
  • 8 years of directly related work experience.

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.

All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically.
