CNO Financial Group is hiring a Learning Experience Engineer to continuously support, improve, and grow the systems and technologies required to support learning at CNO and its marketing brands, primarily the Cornerstone LMS. This role is crucial to system design and enhancements, troubleshooting, deploying upgrades, and working with cross-functional subject matter experts to configure and manage system content. Relationship development is vital to understand the entire organization's needs throughout varied implementation and acceptance. Understanding the learning strategies of the brands and entities operating under CNO is critical to successfully balance end-user experience, training program efficacy, compliant records, system data for analytics partners, secure infrastructure, and accessibility.

Associates who live outside of a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Birmingham, Carmel, Chicago, Orlando and Milwaukee) may perform this role full-time work from home (WFH) from any US based location, as long as you are willing to work central or eastern time zone hours.
All associates may be asked to travel to varying corporate offices periodically. Work cannot be performed from outside of the United States.

As a Learning Experience Engineer , your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring system health, reporting and resolving problems impacting users or system integrity.
- Designing user roles and collaborating with LMS engineer to update user permissions.
- Testing, loading, and deploying courses such as e-learning, classroom, and remote training.
- Serving as subject matter expert on the LMS to partner teams and level 1 technical support.
- Troubleshooting problems with system access, errors on the system daily feeds, and course playback or reporting.
- Acting as a point of escalation for the LMS coordinator for level 2 support of the system, leveraging relationship with vendors and training partners in the organization to further escalate and solving problems in the portal.
- Configuring custom pages and Knowledge Banks: intermediate proficiency with HTML expected for quality assurance.
- Contributing to technical instructions, end-user aids, and business requirements for projects related to learning technology.
- Understanding and communicating Cornerstone release notes and upcoming changes, proposing and leading projects to anticipate and adjust to system updates.
- Actively participating in meetings with team and vendors, taking ownership of the operation of the system.
- Maintaining current data feeds, inbound and outbound, anticipating and reacting to necessary adjustments as the connected business systems and areas continue to add, change, or sunset.
- Daily support for ad hoc reporting and the ongoing support of program reports.
- Coordinating and sustaining new systems or content integrations touching Cornerstone or required to deliver on learning programs (e.g. LinkedIn Learning catalog).
- Understanding and communicating the maintenance and requirements for course authoring programs utilized by CNO’s training teams.
- Participating in program development, guiding the team from a systems perspective to define and manage course structure and deployment.
- Acting as an escalation point for training admins in other departments related to system functionality and security roles. Develop and maintain a system for onboarding new system admins with help from team members as needed.
- Collaborating with LMS Analyst, Engineer, and Coordinator to accomplish goals.
- Assigning support tasks to the LMS coordinator when automation is not possible, but maintenance is needed.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in writing system requirements, maintenance documentation, and loading course content into the LMS
- Have experience web-based training, digital video production, audio editing, streaming media, and web conferencing. Complete understanding of AICC/SCORM/eLearning, JavaScript/JQuery, HTML, CSS, XML, and troubleshooting technical issues identified by the helpdesk Working knowledge of database programs experience – Microsoft Access, MYSQL, and Oracle
- Have experience using E-learning Authoring tools such as Captivate, Articulate, and Camtasia
- Have participated in deployment testing and troubleshooting of pre-authored courseware, new system enhancements, and upgrades to the learning management system
- Have experience defining, implementing, and maintaining multi-tenancy LMS hierarchy structure
- Possess advanced query experience and HR database system integration skills
- Demonstrate advanced analytical skills to evaluate user experience and create easy to use free-flowing processes for end-user experiences
- Are an expert in building strong relationships with multiple departments, often with manager and director level
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, related degree, or eight years of relevant work experience
- 5 years of experience in LMS system administration and learning technologies, preferably experience with Cornerstone
- Experience with Cornerstone LMS
- Candidate location in Central or Eastern US time zone is preferred OR willingness to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours
