CNO Financial Group is hiring a Community Relations Specialist to promote CNO and its family of brands in the communities where our associates live and work; specifically, Birmingham, Carmel (IN), Chicago, Milwaukee, Orlando and Philadelphia. This role is responsible for developing and implementing logistics for annual, strategic philanthropic and sponsorship programs for CNO and its family of brands with some oversight.

This is your opportunity to plan, communicate, execute and report the impact of most of the 30-annual volunteer/sponsorship events held in CNO’s corporate locations and, once annually, nationwide.

As a Community Relations Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

• Develop detailed event project plans, including timelines, budgets and communications, for CNO associates and its subsidiaries’ insurance producers.
• Conceptualize then request event promotion material, including posters, program ads, event planning kits, blogs, videos, internal newsletters and executive communications.
• Orient volunteers and serve as an on-site coordinator for in-person event rollout days.
• Provide administrative support, including reporting community relations metrics, invoice processing, maintaining data in spreadsheets, creating PowerPoint presentations, placing event supply orders, requesting meeting rooms and writing meeting agendas.

The Community Relations Specialist position is well-suited for you if you:

• Are highly analytical, organizational and have fantastic interpersonal skills.
• Possess good working knowledge of event/campaign program creation using Microsoft Project/Excel (or similar).
• Have tracked volunteer programs and hours in an online system (e.g. Volunteer Match or similar) and
• Hold experience with design tools including Canva.
• Are a solid written, verbal and presentation communication skills.

What you’ll need:

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or 8 years of relevant experience as an equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of professional experience in community/public relations departments and/or event planning/project management, with portfolio samples.

• Previous work history with nonprofit organizations either by position or through volunteerism.

CNO Financial Group is pursuing a hybrid working model. Associates who live within a 60-mile radius of a corporate office (Carmel, Chicago, Philadelphia) have access to come into that Office up to 2 days/week, and are encouraged to come into the office at least 5 and up to 15 days per month.
